Enamel badges come in a variety of shapes and makes. The main categories of enamel badges are briefly described below:

Soft enamel badges are normally used for social events and are cheaper than hard badges.

Hard enamel badges are robust in design and provide a polished look. The badges are suitable for long term use.

Printed types are used when the design is too complicated for stamp badges. They come in silver, bronze, and gold. The printed enamel badges can be more colourful than the stamped types.

Stamped types – normally in gold or silver with metallic finishes and a glossy polished look – suitable for less complicated designs.

PVC types are made from polyvinyl chloride materials and are extremely soft. These types of badges are normally worn by teenagers for fun.

Pewter types can be used for complex designs and since pewter lends itself to easy moulding the pewter type is perfect for a modern complex design.
