Many people wear lapel pins to show their allegiance to a country or other institutions. Lapel pins can also be worn to show support for a cause such as pin shaped in the form of a red or pink ribbon to create aids or breast cancer awareness respectively. You can have pins designed and made for to show members belonging to a certain group or organisation such as a crest depicting which school you belong to. Lapel pins can also be used as name badges or other badges stating the nature of profession or function of a certain person in an organisation.
