Top 4 Study Tips to Achieve Merit and Get Those Academic Trophies
Self-discipline has proven to be more important than ever during 2020, especially when it comes to your studies. Many routines have been turned upside down and as we’re nearing the end of the academic year, it’s your responsibility to ensure that you are well prepared.
Customised academic trophies and medals play an important role in motivating students to give it their all and are well deserved at the end of the year. Make sure you get out as much as you’re putting in with our top four study tips that will help you achieve your scholarly goals and scoop some academic trophies!
Organise Your Study Space
In order to focus, you have to make sure that there are no distractions. Organise your study space by creating a space that is tidy, has enough light, and is free from any obvious distractions. You’ll find it much easier to put the time in behind the books with a designated area for your studies.
Create a Study Plan
Achieving academic merit and scooping academic trophies generally means that you have worked hard throughout the entire year and have demonstrated consistent excellence. Ensure that you create a study plan that won’t put too much pressure on you right before the exam.
Start a week or more in advance and cover the topics thoroughly, allowing your brain to process the information. That way you won’t have to cram everything in the day before and hope for the best.
Explain Your Work to Others
The best way to test yourself and see if you understand your work is by explaining certain concepts to those around you. In the process of explaining your work, you’ll realise whether you truly understand a topic, or if you simply memorised the handbook. People are also very likely to ask you questions about the topic that can broaden your critical thinking skills and help prepare you for the exam.
Practice Old Exam Papers
When you feel confident in a subject, put your knowledge to the test before the big day by going over old exam papers. This will prepare you for the type of questions they may ask, and also pinpoint which areas you need to put more focus on.
